Sarah was born on August 8th, 1786 in Portpatrick and her baptism took place there on August 12th, 1786.^1 2

Sarah's father was Thomas Aird and her mother was Helen Crawford. She had two brothers and six sisters, named James, John, Ellen, Elizabeth, Janet, Margaret, Lawrance and Janet.  She was the oldest of the nine children.  She died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 84 on December 29th, 1870 in Irvine.²
