Robert was born on April 5th, 1793 in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England and his baptism took place there on April 12th, 1793.1   Robert's father was Peter FORREST and his mother was Jane PEACOCK. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Peter, John, Thomas, Elizabeth, Jane, Mary, Martha, Ann, Grace and Martha.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.
