Jane was born on August 18th, 1795 in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England and her baptism took place there on August 19th, 1795.1   Jane's father was Peter FORREST and her mother was Jane PEACOCK. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Robert, Peter, John, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha, Ann, Grace and Martha.  She was the third oldest of the eleven children.
