Elizabeth COULTHIRST

Elizabeth was born on October 26th, 1800 in Whitby, Yorkshire, England and her baptism took place there on November 15th, 1800.¹

Elizabeth's father was John COULTHIRST and her mother was Elizabeth GLAVES. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Jacob, Thomas, Thomas, Ann, Mary, Dorothy and Sarah. She was the sixth oldest of the eight children.

  Sorry, to wander from your original question of Cuthbert Colthirst, I may have an interest in him, I have a Mary Coulthirst b1800 married to Robert Dring 1824 Whitby. I havent followed her branch back as yet maybe there is link there.

  Chasing the CLARKE family, I have just found a connection to this family of Colthirsts--as follows--
  
  1667 Jane Marshall m. George Colthirst at Loftus
  1688 Jane Colthirst of Walpey m. George Clarke of Kirbymoorside at Loftus
  1713 Margaret Colthirst m. George Hutton at Skelton
  1715 Cuthbert Colthirst died at Loftus
  1718 Marmaduke Swainston m. Esther Colthirst at Kirkleatham
  
  All of this interest came from reading a will dated 1747 of Anthony Clarke where he named his aunt and his uncle.
