Rebecca's father was George BROWN and her mother was Rebecca CRAVEN. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph BROWN and Eleanor STAINTHORP; her maternal grandparents were George CRAVEN and Jane HEADLAM. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Joseph, Jane and Eleanor. She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
