    CAPTAIN EDMUND BACON, born in England about 1641, died in New Kent County, VA., 19 January, 1705. He is the son of WILLIAM BACON died 1660 and MARGARET, and a cousin of Nathaniel Bacon, "The Rebel," who left no son, as has been frequently claimed, to hand down his name. This WILLIAM BACON may have been the WILLIAM ACON, gent., who patented land in Northumberland County, VA., and died there about 1660, leaving all his property to wife Margaret.
    
    
    "CAPTAIN EDMUND BACON," patented land on the Pamunkey, in New Kent, in 1687; was a vestryman of St. Peter's and High Sheriff of New Kent. He married 19 May 1682 in Kent County, Virginia to ANNE LYDALL, daughter of CAPTAIN GEORGE LYDALL (son of Sir Thomas LYDALL and Bridget WOODWARD) Bridget Woodwards parents were George WOODWARD Elizabeth HONEYWOOD , who patented land on the Pamunkey in 1654, commanded a Fort on the Mattaponi in 1679. CAPT. LYDALL was a cousin of Nathaniel Bacon, Sr., member of the Council, Acting Governor of Virginia.

    JOHN BACON, was born 1682 in New Kent Co. VA., where he was vestryman, and sheriff. He died 4 October, 1742 in New Kent Co.
    
    
    Since John's mother's maiden name was Lyydall it is known now how the name of Lyydall came into the Bacon and Allen families.
    
    
    John was married twice, (1) to Sarah Langston whom he married about 1707 in VA., she died 4 January, 1710 and (2) 4 July, 1710 in VA., to SUSANNA PARKE, who was born in VA. All of John's children were from the second marriage, except the two oldest sons, Nathaniel and William.

    LYDALL BACON
    Son of John Bacon
    LYDALL BACON, son of JOHN BACON, was born 1717 in St. Peters Parish, New Kent VA., and died in Mecklenburg Co., VA., where his will was probated 12 October, 1775.
    
    
    He married about 1740 to MARY ALLEN who was born 1721 in New Kent Co. VA., and died 11 October, 1816 in New Kent Co. Mary, daughter of SAMUEL ALLEN of New Kent Co.
    
    
    The name of Drury Allen begins to appear in this line of Bacons after the marriage of Mary Allen to Lyydall Bacon. Many have thought Mary was the daughter of Drury Allen, son of Robert Allen , but Drury was not old enough to be the father of Mary as some researcher have stated. The name of Drury could be from the Bacon side of the family from a maternal line in England, or Mary could have named a son after her brother, Drury Allen.

    7. Lyddall Bacon, born 17 November, 1755 Lunenburg Co., VA., died 1807 in Edgefield Co., SC.
    8. Mary Bacon, born 14 March, 1758 Lunenburg Co., VA., died age 2.
    9. Richard Bacon, born 24 November, 1760 Lunenburg Co., and died 1797 in Norfolk Co., VA. He married Mary Jordan
    10 Edmund Parkes Bacon, born 17 November, 1763 Lunenburg Co., VA., died 1825 Lundenburg Co. Married 17 December, 1816 in Lunenburg Co., to Frances Winn.
