Francis Marion was born in 1672 in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia.  Francis Marion's father was Francis F Immigrant Triplett and his mother was Abigail Huse Hughes.  His paternal grandparents were John Triplett and Joan Yeo; his maternal grandparents were John Hughes and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Abigail and Eliza.  He is the third oldest of the six children.
