Ray Lemon Parsons

  • Dunnellon - Ray Lemon Parsons, 96, of Dunnellon, Florida, died Thursday,
    February 28th in Dunnellon.  He was born August 14, 1911 in Martinsburg, West
    Virginia.  He moved here in 1969 from Lauderhill, FL. Prior to living in
    Lauderhill, he resided for many years in Puerto Rico.  Ray was a manager with
    Keyser-Roth Company (Catalina Sportswear) of Puerto Rico.  After moving to
    Dunnellon, he was a sales associate with Blue Run Realty of Dunnellon.  He was
    a member of the Rainbow Lakes United Methodist Church, Dunnellon and was Past
    Chairman of the Pastor Parish Committee.  Ray devoted much of his time to the
    church .  He also served as the Chairperson of Interrelations Committee at
    Hampton Manor Gardens, Dunnellon.  He was a Master Mason, currently with the
    Dunnellon F&AM Lodge #136 and past Treasurer there.  He had been a Mason for
    over 40 years, having attained Perpetual Membership in 1999.  He will be
    remembered for his always being ready to help out whenever needed and being a
    "Workaholic".  He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.  He
    was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Parsons, to whom he was married for 70
    years, and his son, Ray Parsons.  He is survived by:  daughter-in-law, Loretta
    Parsons, Orlando; brother-in-law, George Marshall and family, W.VA;  two
    sisters-in-law, Libby Parsons and Thelma Parsons, both of Californiq; two
    grandsons, Robert Parsons, Orlando, and Hairle Parsons, Oregon; one
    granddaughter, Elaine Brown, Oregon;  four great-grandchildren, Mayra, Vivian,
    Kristina and Brittany; two great great-grandchildren, Ryder and Alexander, and
    several neices and nephews living in West  Virginia.  Viewing will be at the
    Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvnia Ave., Dunnellon on Tuesday, March 4,
    2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Service will be at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor R. A.
    Welmert  officiating.  Burial will be at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens
    Cemetery, Ocala.  Memorial donations may be given to Ray's church:  Rainbow
    Lakes United Methodist Church,  195656  SW Beach Blvd.,, Dunnellon, FL 34432.
