    The word " Martiall" in the Author's Book, must be a misprint, and certainly intended for the name of Marshall, i. e. for John Marshall mentioned in Fuller's Worthies, (under title Worcestershire, 175) because Calfhill in the Prefatory Kpistle to his work, addresses this his Answer " To John Martiall, Student in Divinity." and Fuller observes that John Marshall was bred at New College, (Oxford) and becoming a Canon of Lisle, in Flanders, wrote a book much prized by men of his persuasions, against John Caljild, an English Protestant," and died in 1597.
