Charles was born about 1697.  Charles' father was John Marshall and his mother was Anabella Scarborough-Toft Jenifer.  His paternal grandfather was William Marshall (POSS) and his paternal grandmother is Mary Fletcher; his maternal grandparents were Col Edmund Scarborough II and Mistress Anne Toft. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Daniel, William, Peter, John, Elizabeth and Ann Mary.  He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Martial, John, Mary, Annabella and Comfort.  He died in 1740 in Back Creek, Accomack Co., Va.
