  • Robert and wife belonged to families that came to PA with William Penn. Did not come on first ship. Founded family known as Loves of Kershaw after moving to South Carolina. Came about 1737, date of arrival of Alexander Love of York PA, later York South Carolina. (Albert Cook Myers book on Scotch Irish in PA.) PA archives Vo 1, 5th series
    Grant of land from George III, dated 24 April 1762.
    The Love and Willson families went from Denmark to Normandy France, to England in the company of William the Conquerer, to Scotland, Ireland, to Pennsylvania and to S. Carolina. In England they settled in County Hants, or present day Hampshire.
