Capt John of Sweet Springs Lewis

John was born on August 24th, 1758 in Augusta Co., Va. John's father was Col William of Greenbriar Lewis and his mother was Anne Montgomery. His paternal grandparents were John pioneer Lewis and Margaret Lynn. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Alexander, William J, Charles W, Margaret Lynn, Agatha and Elizabeth Montgomery. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 64 on June 4th, 1823.
