Sam Colonneh Ka'lanu the Raven was born on March 2nd, 1793.  Sam Colonneh Ka'lanu the Raven's father was Maj. Samuel Houston and his mother was Elizabeth Paxton.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Houston and Margaret Davidson; his maternal grandparents were John Paxton and <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He was fostered by Chief John OO-LOO-TES KEE "He-Puts-the-Drum-Away." Jolly (formerly of the Long Island) & Sarah Chickamauga (1/2 Shawnee Cherokee) who also fostered Sam Colonneh Ka'lanu the Raven.  He was also adopted by Chief John OO-LOO-TES KEE "He-Puts-the-Drum-Away." Jolly (formerly of the Long Island) & Sarah Chickamauga (1/2 Shawnee Cherokee) who also adopted Sam Colonneh Ka'lanu the Raven and Sam Colonneh Ka'lanu the Raven.  He died at the age of 70 on July 26th, 1863.
