  • BRUCE 16 Jun 1890 Col. Robert Bruce died at his residence on Washington Street
    on Saturday (14 Jun). He was born on 26 Mar 1805, a son of Upton Bruce and the
    former Miss Sarah Magruder Claigett of Washington Co MD. He married on 2 Jan
    1834 to Miss Anna Maria Carroll Hodges of Baltimore. He leaves his wife and 3
    children: Robert A Bruce of Hagerstown; Mrs Gen. Kelley of Washington DC.; Mrs D
    J Blackistone of Cumberland; and also his brothers and sisters; Norman, Henry,
    Charles, Upton, and Mrs William Price and Mrs Gen. Walter Gwynn. Funeral
