Col William Edmontson

William was born in 1734 in Cecil Co, MD. He died at the age of 88 in 1822 in Washington Co, VA.

  William Edmunston was engaged in the battle of Point Pleasant and, 1776, commanded a company against the Cherokees; served in the Chickamauga expedition, 1779. In 1783 was major at Kings Mountain and was promoted colonel.
