Col Valentine 15 Crawford Jr

Valentine was born in 1724 in Berkley County,Virginia. Valentine's father was Valentine William 1 Crawford Sr and his mother was Honora Grimes. His paternal grandparents were William Crawford Sr and Naudaine Valentine. He had a brother and a sister, named William H surveyor and Mary Elizabeth Martha at least 3 daughters. He had two half-brothers named John and Richard. He died at the age of 53 in 1777.

  "Valentine applied for 100 acres of land in Frederick County, Virginia in 1748, about the time he was married. He paid for the land on June 21, 1754.
  Along with his brother, Valentine enlisted in the British Army in 1754 at Winchester, Virginia. They both took oath to the King of England.
  
  He was a private in the Augusta County, Virginia Militia in 1775, stationed at Fort Fincastle. On October 1, 1776 he was stationed at Fort Henry, now Wheeling, West Virginia. Valentine was commissioned Colonel in the Virginia Militia in December 1776 and served as Wagon Master General.
  
  Valentine acted as a secretary or an assistant to George Washington. He is reported to have been elected to the Virginia House of Burgess and voted in that body in 1758.
  He fell through the ice while returning home in Washington County, Pennsylvania and caught pneumonia which proved fatal. Colonel William Crawford took the body to Bullskin Creek in Shepherdstown, [1863 West] Virginia, and buried it beside his mother, Honora Crawford Stephenson. "
