          m Margaret Caruthers. She b Bennington, Vt., 9
    
          Aug, 1742; d at Bozrah, 3 Feb, 1830. She was an
    
          adopted dau of Abiel Marshall, of Bozrah, Conn, and
    
          g dau of Col John Dixwell, one of the "Regicide"
    
          judges who passed the death sentence on the English
    
          King, Charles I. After the restoration of the monarchy
    
          in 1660, Dixwell, with many of his associates,
    
          was condemned to death. He fled to Boston and
    
          when officers were sent to arrest them by order of
    
          Charles II, he and his two companions found refuge
    
          in New Haven, where the "Regicides' Cave" is still
    
          shown.
