Barbara was born in 1707 in Charles City County, Maryland.  Barbara's father was Henry Immigrant Acton II and her mother was Anne Mariot Penn.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Acton I and Hannah Corbet; her maternal grandparents were William Immigrant Penn Gent and Mary Chandler. She had two brothers and a sister, named Henry, John and Anne.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died about 1780.
