James Stopford

James was born in 1894 in Stockport, Cheshire.¹ James' father was Samuel Stopford and his mother was Emma Gamble. His paternal grandparents were James Stopford and Nancy; his maternal grandparents were George Gamble and Ellen / Elizabeth Wood. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Harry, Samuel, Alice, Edith, Nancy and Mary. He was the second youngest of the seven children.
