Job was born in 1870 in Talke, Staffordshire.1   Job's father was Samuel Sproston and his mother was Paulina Archer.  His maternal grandparents were Samuel Archer and Sarah. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, Harry, Enos, James, Frances, Pauline, Sarah, Jane and Mary.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
