George William Penny

George was born in 1885 in Old Infford, Barton-Irwell.¹

George's father was William Henry Penny and his mother was Sarah Eleanor Lewis. His paternal grandparents were Henry Penny and Sarah Powell; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Lewis and Mary. He had a brother and three sisters, named Frederick, Eva, Lilian and Annie. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 31 on November 4th, 1916 in France.¹
