William Hughes

William was born in 1889 in Birkenhead, Cheshire.¹ William's father was Edwin Hughes and his mother was Sarah. His paternal grandparents were Peter Hughes and Ann Walker. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Edwin, John, Sarah and Florence. He was the oldest of the five children.
