William Gamble

William was born in 1829 in Belper, Derbyshire.¹ William's father was Thomas Gamble and his mother was Mary Thorpe. His paternal grandparents were Stephen Gamble and Alice Walker. He had three brothers and a sister, named John, George, Joseph and Anne. He was the oldest of the five children.
