John Gamble

John was born in 1831 in Belper, Derbyshire.¹ John's father was Thomas Gamble and his mother was Mary Thorpe. His paternal grandparents were Stephen Gamble and Alice Walker. He had three brothers and a sister, named William, George, Joseph and Anne. He was the second oldest of the five children.
