Karl was born in March 1824 in Finland.  Karl's father was Abraham Framling and his mother was Brita Johansdtr Saari. He had a brother and a sister, named Johan and Caisa.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 92 in 1916 in Minnesota.
