Burke's Peerage & Baronetage, 106th Edition

John IV Lestrange; may have been a supporter of Simon de Montfort in his disputes with Henry III; was at any rate instructed by the King to surrender his possession of Montgomery Castle 1261 and 1263, it having been ordered to be made over to
him 1260; a royal order for its restoration to him (John IV Lestrange) was also made 1265, suggesting that any support by him for Simon de Montfort was now ended; married Joan (predeceased her husband), daughter of Roger de Somery by Nichole, daughter and coheir of William de Aubigny, Earl of Arundel, and died by 26 Feb 1275/6.
