Theobald, known as The Great, was born in 1090 in Blois, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France.1   The Great's father was Count Stephen (The Sage) Henry of Blois II and his mother was Adelidis (Alice) of England.  His paternal grandparents were Count Theobald of Blois II and Garsende de Maine; his maternal grandparents were William (The Conqueror) de Normandie and Matilda (Maud) of Flanders. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Guillaume, Simple, Henry, Humbert, Stephen, Philip, Matilda, Lithuise, Alix, Eleonore, Emma and Agnes.  He died at the age of 62 in 1152 in Lagny-sur-Marne, Ile-de-France, France.1
