She passed away from having breast cancer.
Charles' siblings were Elmer, Hattie, Birdie and Etta Underwood. I am not sure if he had any others.
Hattie was born on Dec. 27th and her married name was Barefield... Etta's married name was Hubble. She died April 2, 1971 in California.
Charles's step father was George Childers (Pappy).

(This data was enter by Grandpa's grandson Gary Wayne Parks). 1913 - 2001 Vada Faye Eakin 87 87 Vada's siblings were Reed, Margaret (Maggie) Mae and Dan Lacky Eakin. She had other half siblings, J.C. Eakin, but I have no information on the others.
Maggie Mae was married to Jake Hall. They had two known children (unsure if or of any others). Their names were Ima and Billy Hall.
Vada named her first child (my mother), "Margaret", after her sister. "Granny" was an absolutely beautiful woman. She was very humble and honest. I honestly had never heard her say a cuss word until I was an adult. I remember how shocked I was. It wasn't even a real bad word.
Granny kept busy all the years I knew her. She always had a full line vegetable garden in her back yard. She would make her own soil (compost) from all the dead leaves, grass, or vegetables, etc... . She was also a fine quilter. She would quilt from a quilting device that she devised herself. She was able to give all her grand children and even some great grandchildren, at least one each. She would sew a penny into the corner of her quilt, from the year she completed it.
A couple of jobs, that I know about, that Granny had in her working years, were "Sonic Drive In" and "Pop's Drive In" both in Roswell, New Mexico.
There are no words that can sum up Vada Faye. She was very special. I was blessed, by God, to be given her as my grandmother*You can find Granny on "findagrave.com" website*.

(This data was enter by Granny's grandson Gary Wayne Parks). 1932 - 1988 Margaret Mae Underwood 55 55 Margaret's siblings are Lillian Bernice Perkins-Campbell, Charles Lee and Dellie Marie Reeves. She also had a baby sister named Arley Lea born 06/24/1937 and died 07/24/1937.
Margaret's first husband was Houston Cole. They had Linda Marie Cole (Hernes) and Judy Katherine Cole (Shanks) together. She later married Dudley Parks. They had Dale Eugene, David Glen and twins Paul Ray and Gary Wayne together.
Margaret was a fine mother. She was a very passionate person but also a very strong one. A very classy woman who carried herself with grace. She truly made her children feel safe and loved. She was also, physically, a very beautiful woman. I thought that in her younger years, she was "model" or "movie star", picturesque.
I was able to let my mother know that I am homosexual. She was unwavered in her love and support form me. I was 23 when she died. I would have loved to have had her until old age called her, instead of breast cancer at the young age of 56.

A couple of schools that mom went to, in her elementary years, were Mountain Grove (in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma) and Ross (near Porum, Oklahoma).

Margaret's Obituary: From the "Roswell Daily Record" in Roswell, Chaves Co. NM

Services are scheduled for 2p.m. Monday at the Ballard Funeral Home chapel for Margaret Mae Parks, 55 of 2815 Delicado Drive, who died Wednesday at St. Mary's Regional Health Center.
The Rev. Don Patterson of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses will officiate.
Special music will include "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace", "God's Promise of Paradise" and "Life Without End at Last".
Burial will be at Sough Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Parks was born on August 15, 1932 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Millard Underwood. Her father preceded her in death while her mother, Vada Faye, survives her in Roswell, NM.
A Roswell resident for 40 years, she was a package store attendant.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Arley Lea.
Survivors include four sons, Dale Eugene Parks of Lancaster, CA., David Glen Parks and Gary Wayne Parks of Albuquerque, NM., and Paul Ray Parks and his wife Shana of Roswell, NM.; two daughters, Linda Marie Hernes and her husband Gary of Santa Fe, NM. and Judy Katherine Shanks and her husband Bill of Roswell, NM.; one brother, Charles Lee Underwood of Roswell, two sisters, Lillian Bernice Campbell of Roswell and Dellie Marie Reeves and her husband Jim of Aloha, OR.; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Elliot, Bobby Irvin, Robert Shanks, Don Shaw, Elmer Smith and Tony Wolf.
Honorary pallbearers are Travis Greer, Gary Hernes, Lloyd Romero and Bill Shanks.

She was married to George Childers at the time of her death. "Della" is her nickname that she went by all her life.

William is in the 1850 Pope County, Arkansas census and in the 1860 census in Yell County, Arkansas.
William's siblings are Chester (B: 1828 in MO), Polly (1832 in MO), Zeriah (1835 in MO), and Mary E. Alvis (1842 in AK).
William and Judia and family are found in the 1860 Arkansas/ Yell County/ Delaware Township: Image 10 of 141.

Katherine is buried at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM. She lost her battle with cancer after eight months from being diagnosed with it.
Katherine was the type of person who would give you what she could if you asked, while she couldn't even afford to. She had a huge heart and a wise innocence. She had the type of personality that people immediately took to.
I remember David, Paul and I (her brothers) and our friends (in our high school years) would go to visit Katherine and we would spend hours laughing, playing card and board games, listening to music, going to "Denny's" late at night to eat and many more wonderful memories. Linda (our sister) had so many more memories of Kat, as they were about a year apart. Katherine and her husband Bill Shanks would go visit Linda and her husband Gary Hernes, in Santa Fe, New Mexico often. Kat and Bill would stay for a couple of weeks visit. Dale (our other brother) would come in from California to Santa Fe and we would all leave from there and drive North to Heron Lake, near Chama, New Mexico and camp for 10 days. Just roughing it. We always played a game called Poker-Kino at the camp site. It was a cross between Poker and Bingo. We would play for prizes. I think our sister Linda won most of the time. :) The family camping trips would include our father (Linda & Kat's step-father) Dudley Parks and his second wife Frieda, Linda and Kat's daughters, Shauna Hernes, Michelle Shanks, Melissa Shanks, Linda Shanks and sometimes their friends, Dale Parks, David Parks and myself, Gary Parks. Our brother Paul Parks never was able to make these camping trips with us due to work or other reasons though he always wanted to. We made this trip for a few years in a row before we all started taking annual vacations to separate places.
I so very miss my sister. She was the first of us six children to leave this earth. She is our pioneer to the after life who will be waiting for us when it is our turn to be called Home. Our mother, Margaret Mae "Underwood" Parks was there to welcome Kat Home.

To my beautiful sister Katherine's descendents: Know that your fore-mother was a beautiful sister, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and is missed so much. She has made her journey into the unknown with a light in her soul.
