Count Jocelyn de Louvain (Joscelin de Louvain Barbatus) 
Jocelyn was born in 1130 in Louvain, Belgium.1 Jocelyn's father was Duke Godfrey of Brabrant II and his mother was Clementia of Burgundy. His paternal grandparents were Duke of Lower Lorraine Godfrey (The Bearded) of Brabrant and Countess Ida de Chiny; his maternal grandparents were Count of Burgundy William (The Great) de Macon I and Stephanie of Barcelona. He had a half-brother named Godfrey. He died at the age of 50 on September 29th, 1180 in Petworth, England.1 General Notes
Jocelin or Josceline, of Louvain (thought to have died by Michaelmas 1180), of Petworth, Sussex, half-brother of Queen Adela (who presented Jocelin with the Petworth lands), 2nd wife of Henry I, and son of Godfrey I "Barbatus" ("The Bearded"), Duke of Lower Lorraine, by his 2nd wife. Jocelin/Josceline, of Louvain; married Agnes, 2nd daughter but eventual heiress of William de Percy and had issue, the 1st Duke of Northumberland of the 1766 creation choosing the title "Lord Lovaine, Baron of Alnwick" when also given a Barony 1784 in commemoration of this ancestral connection.
