William was born in 1173 in Woodstock Manor, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.1   William's father was King of England Henry (Curtmantel) Plantagenet II and his mother was Rosamond de Clifford.  His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey (The Fair) Plantagenate Of Anjou IV and Empress Of Normandy Matilda of England; his maternal grandparents were Walter Fitzrichard de Clifford I and Margaret de Toeni. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William, The Young King, Geoffrey, Philip, Lackland, Matilda, Eleanor and Joanna.  He died at the age of 50 on March 7th, 1223 in Salisbury Castle, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.2
