  Rainald the Sheriff of Shropshire, otherwise known as Rainald de Balgiole or Baliol, another of Earl Roger Montgomery's domains in NOrmandy, was also a tenant in chief in Staffordshire. He also assisted in the administration of Earl Roger's Shropshire. He was married to Amiera, Earl Roger's niece. Rainald/Renaud was at the Battle of Hastings. He may be one and the same as Pierre, Knight of Balliol and Fecamp who contributed one ship and 20 men-at-arms to the battle, or perhaps a brother of Pierre.
