Peggy's father was Thomas Ray Wesley and her mother was Charlotte "Lotty" Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were Robert "Robin" Wesley and Delilah Dye. She had a brother and three sisters, named Lemont "Lee", Martha Jane "Patsy", Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" and Emily.
