Anne was born about 1499 in Standish With Langtree, Wigan, Lancashire, England. Anne's father was Ralph Standish and her mother was Alice Harrington. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Standish and Sibyl de Bold. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Ralph, Roger Robert, Alexander, Roger, George, Agnes, Elizabeth and Jane.
