Elizabeth (Margaret) was born in 1568 in Wiston, Sussex, England. Elizabeth (Margaret)'s father was Thomas Shirley and her mother was Anne Kempe dau of Sir Thomas Kempe of Wye by Catherine Chenye. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Kempe and Cecily Katherine Cheyney. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Anthony, Robert, Isabel, Maria, Cecily, Cicely, Jane and Anne. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 62 on August 6th, 1630.General Notes
