Odell's father was Lowry William Roberts and his mother was Laura B. Pleasant. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Flannery Roberts and Mary Polly Morley. He had five brothers and four sisters, named James Arville, Earl W., Frank J., Walter B., Dan C., Rosa May, Golda, Georgia C. and Ethel M..General Notes
