Edward's father was Lonnie Smith Roberts and his mother was Lucy Eva Fowler. His paternal grandparents were Edward P. Roberts and Frances Forsyth. He had a brother and four sisters, named Lonnie Smith, Kathleen, Mary Tom, Eva L. and Ella Jean.General Notes
