Henry, known as The Young King, was born on February 28th, 1154 in Bermandsey Palace, London, Middlesex, England.1  The Young King's father was King of England Henry (Curtmantel) Plantagenet II and his mother was Princess Eleanore of Acquitane.  His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey (The Fair) Plantagenate Of Anjou IV and Empress Of Normandy Matilda of England; his maternal grandparents were Duke William of Aquitaine X and Eleanor de Chastellerault. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Geoffrey, Philip, Lackland, Matilda, Eleanor and Joanna.  He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named William.
