Josephine was born in 1904 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN . Josephine's father was Ambrose POE and his mother was Louella HICKS. His maternal grandparents were Allison Monroe "Allen" HICKS and Mary Ann "May" OLIVER. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Orvel , James, Hazel Beatrice , Clara and Opaline L . He was the third youngest of the six children.-
