James NORMAN 
James was born in 1804 in Wilkes Co., N. C.. James' father was William NORMAN and his mother was Mary Polly KEMP. His paternal grandparents were James Madison NORMAN Sr. and Ruth ROBERTS. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Emery, William H., Daniel, John, Joseph Thomas, Sally, Elizabeth, Ruth and Nancy. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James Isaac, Hardy, Rebecca, Susan and Lydia. He died at the age of 47 on November 26th, 1851 in Morgan Co., IN..General Notes

Census shows James Norman at age 46, working as a 'Farmer', who was born in North Carolina. Wife Sarah Norman is age 42, born in Tennessee. There are 5 children in the household: Son George Norman at age 19, born in Tennessee, and working as a 'Laborer'; Son Jesse D. Norman at age 17, born in Tennessee, and working as a 'Laborer'; Daughter Mary J. Norman at age 15, born in Tennessee; Son Joseph H. Norman at age 11, born in Indiana; and Daughter America C. Norman at age 8, born in Indiana. The houshold also includes a Nancy Hall, who is age 6 years and whose relationship is not known.
