James Leftwich 
James was born on March 2nd, 1773 in Caroline Co, Va. James' father was Col. Thomas Leftwich and his mother was Bethunia Ellis. His maternal grandparents were Charles Ellis and Susannah Harding. He had a brother and three sisters, named "White Head", Charlotte, Susannah and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 52 on August 11th, 1825 in Bedford Co, Va. He was buried in Bedford Co, Va.General Notes
