Anna J.'s father was John Melvin Higgs and her mother was Mary Carrie Worthington. Her paternal grandparents were Moody C. Higgs and Nancy Jane Decker. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Melvin William, George Henry, Robert Emit, Maybelle, Ethel L. and Lou Jane.General Notes
