James Karr Givens 
James Karr was born on January 9th, 1835 in Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky. James Karr's father was Nathaniel Karr Givens and his mother was Jane Hopkins "Jennie" Givens. His maternal grandparents were Eleazar Givens and Jane "Jenny" Robertson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas C., Dickson, Usibia "Siba", Martha, Elizabeth Karr and Frances "Fanny" B.. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 46 on November 3rd, 1881 in Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky. He was buried in Old Fellows Cemetery, Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky.General Notes
