Martha Elmore's father was John Millard Filmore Cary and her mother was Lumittie Geroma Parish. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Harrison Cary and Polly; her maternal grandparents were David Daniel Parish and Martha J. Thomason. She had a brother named Samuel David. She had six half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Millard Lafayette, Landon D., George Salathail, Ollie Morten, James E., John Howard, Mollie, Clara Vertree, Willie Bell and Infant Daughter.General Notes
