William Bruce 
William was born about 1538 in Blairhall, Fifeshire, Scotland. William's father was Edward Bruce and his mother was Allison Reid. His paternal grandparents were David Bruce and Jane Blackadder. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Edward, George, Margaret and Bessie. He was the second oldest of the six children.-
