James Browning 
James was born about 1706 in Essex County, Virginia.1 James' father was Francis Browning and his mother was Rachel Merritt. His paternal grandparents were John Browning and Elizabeth Demarest. He had six brothers and a sister, named Francis, John, Edward, Thomas, William, Nicholas and Anne. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.General Notes

Will of James Browning of Henrico Parish
To my first son William, 5 shillings
To my second son John, 5 shillings
To my daughter Susannah Clarke, 5 shillings
To my sons Samuel and Williamson, 10 pounds
To my daughter Maryanne Browning, 5 pounds
To wife Ann, for life, my whole estate and then to be sold to pay above legacies. The rest to be divided among my following children: Daniel, Samuel, Williamson, Elizabeth and Mary Anne Browning, and Lucy Drake.
