Isobel Balfour 
Isobel was born about 1525 in Montquanie, Kilmany, Fifeshire, Scotland. Isobel's father was Sir Andrew Balfour and her mother was Janet Bruce. Her paternal grandparents were Sir Michael Balfour and Marjory Drury. She had four brothers named Commendator of Melrose Michael, Sir Gilbert, Sir James and David. She was the youngest of the five children.-
