James Merit BUCKLES 
James Merit was born on October 27th, 1844 in Hardin Co., Kentucky.1 James Merit's father was Aaron Buckles and his mother was Rachel MERIT. His paternal grandparents were John Buckles and Frances Wallingford. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Augustine Gustavus, Joseph M., John, D. Ephraim, Aaron, Henry F., Sophia and Susannah. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William, Asa W., Elizabeth and Mary. He died at the age of 66 on April 24th, 1911 in Horntown, Grayson Co., Kentucky.General Notes
