  Pension denial record has Uriah as his father.  This record also has hisbirth in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on June 9, 1760.  There may be some confusion with another David Blue.
  
  BIOGRAPHY: Moved with his parents to Berkeley Co., Virginia (now West Virginia).  Military service between 1791-1791 serving during the Northwest Indian War of 1791. His commanding officer was Col. William Darke of the First Regiment.  The records state that he entered the service on 17 May 1791 and on 4 November 1791, while serving under Col. William Darke in the First Regiment, he was wounded in the left shoulder. He left the service on 11 November 1791 and was pensioned in Berkeley Co., Virginia in 1792.  In spite of his old wound, David again served his country in the military.  In 1813 he joined Boswell's Kentucky militia, then transferred to the regular army.  He was still on the Virginia pension roll in 1822, when he reported he was residing in Fleming Co., Kentucky.  In 1827, he moved to Parke Co., Indiana to be near his children and friends.  There are records showing David buying and selling land in Rockville, Parke County in 1827.

  David Blue declares he served in the company of Capt. Joseph Darke in the regiment of Col. William Darke. He now resides in KY (previously in Richmond VA pension rolls).  30 Oct 1829 Parke Co In David blue declares he has moved from KY to In to be with his children and some of his old friends and neighbors who moved to Indiana  5 Aug 1835 - Joseph A. Wright writes from Rockville, IN that David Blue died in Jan last.  He left a widow.  David Blue was pensioned in Berkeley Co., VA from 29 Dec 1790 under the Act of 7 June 1785 and was continued under the Act of 4 March 1800.  David Blue, private of Col. Joseph Darke's company in the regiment of Col. William Darke, with 2/3 disability, was placed on the KY. pension roll at $5.33 1/3 per month and was transferred to the IN pension roll.  David Blue R.964 15 Oct 1838 - Union Co KY David Blue of said county aged 78 declares that in 1778 and 1779 he resided in Berkeley Co VA in the fall of 1779 he was drafted at Shepherdstown for 3 months in the militia. Most were marched north but he and a few others who were drafted were attached to wagons and teams and employed in hauling flour from Berkeley County to Cumberland old fort at or near the foot of the Allegheny Mountains. He was put with his wagon & team (owned by his father, Uriah Blue) under Capt. Duncan Campbell and 24 wagons & teams were engaged in hauling the flour.  At the end of the third trip he received a discharge from Capt. Campbell.  In the spring of 1780 Capt. James Qualey & Lt. James Kerney were in the recruiting service and he enlisted in the meantime & Lt., afterward Capt. Kerney took command. Uriah Blue, his father, having great need of his personal service at home, hired a stout able bodied man named John Lindsey as a substitute in his place. After the capture of Cornwallis he went to Winchester to see the prisoners and some friends who were there on guard. He found one of the guard, his relation, Jacob Blue, very sick and consented to serve out Jacob's tour and by the consent of Capt. McCarty substituted in his place.  He served until the prisoners were marched across the Potomac.  He was born 9 June 1760 Bucks Co Pa (record in his bible taken from his father's bible).  He lived in Berkeley county until he moved to KY in 1808 and has lived in Henderson and now Union Co since it became a county in 1811.
  15 Oct 1838, Union county, KY - George Johnson and John Blue of said county declare they have known David Blue 30 years.
  Rejected because he did not serve 6 months in a military capacity.  Researches have confused these two for a long time.  The second David Blue moved to Fountain Co, Darryn believes.  The first one married Phoebe Wallingford Murphy. Phoebe was married to James Murphy before she married David. Phoebe had two children by James and 5 by David.  Many of them moved to Parke Co. in the 1820s.  At least one was living there in 1850.  Her name was Amy Blue and she married her cousin, Charles Murrow.  Darryn descends from two of Phoebe Wallingford Blue's brothers.
