Beli ap Rhun

Beli was born about 0517 in North Wales.¹ Beli's father was King of Gwynedd, Wales Rhun (The Tall, Hir) ap Maelgwn and his mother was Perwyr verch Rhun. His paternal grandparents were King of Gwynedd Maelgwn (The Tall) Gwynedd ap Cadwallon and Gwallwen verch Afallach. He was an only child. He died in 0599.¹

- Beli ap Rhun (c. 517-599, reigned from c. 586) was king of Gwynedd. Very little is known about his reign, which suggests he ruled relatively unremarkably during a time of comparative peace and stability. He was succeeded by his son Iago.
