Romanus was born in 0869 in Lakape, Armenia.1   Romanus' father was Theophylaktos Abstartus and his mother was <Unknown>.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 78 on March 15th, 0947 in Isle of Prote, Makedhonia, Greece.1
